Differential equations and crime

A group of mathematicians in Los Angeles have developed, in a series of papers, a systems of two partial differential equations, in time and space coordinates, which describe the risk of a criminal attack. Andrea Bertozzi, director of the Computational and Applied Math group in the UCLA Math Dept, has co-arthored many papers on the subject.

An introduction is at The Mathematics of Clumpy Crime.
